Post-Marathon Hummus and Beer at Miznon: The Perfect London Cool-Down

When the London Marathon takes over the capital on 25 April, thousands of runners will be pounding the pavements in one of the city’s most celebrated annual events. After 26.2 miles of determination, sweat and sore legs, Miznon has come up with a reward that feels both well-earned and wonderfully simple: free hummus and a cold Camden Town Brewery beer for marathon finishers who can show proof they crossed that finish line.

For those unfamiliar with Miznon, this is not your average post-race refuelling stop. Founded by celebrated Israeli chef Eyal Shani, Miznon has built a loyal following for its vibrant Eastern Mediterranean street food, served with plenty of personality and flair. With locations in Soho and Notting Hill, the restaurants are known for turning fresh, bold ingredients into dishes that are colourful, comforting and full of texture.

Their marathon recovery ritual, aptly named Sweat, Dip, Sip, feels entirely in keeping with the Miznon spirit. Their hummus is silky, rich and deeply satisfying, served generously with warm pita that arrives soft, fluffy and perfect for scooping. It is exactly the kind of comforting food tired runners will be craving after hours on the road.

But even for those not wearing a medal around their neck, Miznon is worth seeking out. The menu is packed with dishes that have earned cult status, including their famous pita sandwiches stuffed with slow-cooked meats, roasted vegetables and punchy sauces. The lamb kebab pita is a standout, packed with juicy, spiced meat and tucked into pillowy bread that somehow manages to hold every delicious dripping bite together. Equally irresistible is the roasted cauliflower, one of Miznon’s signature dishes, served whole and charred until beautifully caramelised, with olive oil and sea salt bringing out its smoky sweetness.

There is also the run over potato, a messy, glorious creation where baked potato is split open and loaded with crème fraîche and toppings that make it impossible to eat neatly but entirely worth the effort. Add in ratatouille-filled pitas, tahini-laced seasonal vegetables and seriously good falafel, and it becomes clear that Miznon’s appeal stretches far beyond marathon day.

So while runners may have the perfect excuse to stop by after conquering London’s streets, everyone else can happily join in too. Whether arriving exhausted from the finish line or simply hungry after cheering from the sidelines, Miznon offers the kind of lively, flavour-packed feast that makes any day in London feel like something worth celebrating.
