There are restaurants where you go for dinner, and then there are restaurants where dinner somehow turns into an entire evening. Tortello definitely feels like the latter.
Built around a love of good food, good ingredients and the simple joy of sitting around a table with people you like, Tortello takes Italian cooking back to basics — but with enough modern flair to keep things feeling fresh, stylish and very much of the moment.
The clue is in the name. Tortello, meaning a single tortelloni, celebrates the beauty of getting the little things right. And when it comes to pasta, the little things matter. A lot.

Here, pasta is made by hand, with patience and plenty of care, using silky flour from specialist Italian mills and rich, golden-yolk eggs created especially for the restaurant. The result? Pasta that is wonderfully delicate, gloriously comforting and practically begging to be twirled around your fork.
Chef Giuseppe leads the kitchen, bringing traditional Italian recipes together with a subtle contemporary touch. It’s the sort of cooking that doesn’t need to shout. Instead, it lets brilliant ingredients do the talking — although there’s a good chance you’ll be making plenty of appreciative noises once the food hits the table.

Start with the antipasti and prepare to share. Seasonal produce, beautifully prepared, sets the tone before the pasta arrives and inevitably steals the show. Think silky, sauce-clinging ribbons, plump parcels of hand-folded pasta and those wonderfully rich, moreish combinations that make you realise you’ve been eating straight from the serving dish.
And because life is too short to choose between pasta and pizza, Tortello serves both. The pizzas bring that irresistible combination of crisp edges, soft dough and generous toppings, making them ideal for a relaxed lunch, a long dinner or the increasingly common “we’ll just order one for the table” situation.
There’s plenty beyond carbs, too, with seasonal secondi rounding things out and giving the menu a lovely sense of rhythm. But honestly, nobody is judging if you come primarily for the pasta.

Then there’s the setting. Tortello manages to feel stylish without becoming precious — a space designed for lingering, chatting and, crucially, eating. There’s a sense of understated Italian cool, with thoughtful details creating an atmosphere that feels warm and contemporary rather than overly polished.
It’s the kind of room where a quick meal can easily become a bottle of wine, another plate, something sweet and a lengthy debate over whether ordering more pasta is excessive.
(Spoiler: it isn’t.)
Because ultimately, Tortello understands something wonderfully simple: food tastes better when it’s shared. It’s about recipes with history, ingredients with purpose and dishes that make you want to slow down.
Come hungry, bring good company and leave plenty of time. The pasta deserves it.
