If a spontaneous trip to Ibiza isn’t on the cards this summer, JUL’S might just be the next best thing.
The acclaimed Mediterranean restaurant and bar opened its London doors earlier this year, bringing sun-soaked flavours, laid-back luxury and serious style to the heart of St James’s. Housed within a beautifully restored former bank, JUL’S has transformed a historic building into one of London’s most exciting new dining destinations.
Step inside and it’s immediately clear this isn’t your average restaurant. Grand architecture meets natural materials, handcrafted details and warm, intimate interiors, creating a space that feels both elegant and effortlessly relaxed. It’s the kind of place where a quick lunch can easily become an all-afternoon affair.
JUL’S first made its name in Ibiza back in 2018, founded by executive chef Christos Fotos alongside Jem Akyuz and his son Ilhan. Since then, the brand has built a loyal following thanks to its fresh Mediterranean approach, balancing vibrant flavours with a relaxed island spirit. The group also operates Humain by JUL’S in Athens, a more experimental concept that has helped cement its reputation as one to watch.
Now London gets a taste of the magic.
The menu celebrates Mediterranean cooking at its finest, with seasonal ingredients, colourful plates and dishes designed to be shared around the table. It’s food that encourages long conversations, another bottle of wine and cancelling whatever plans come next.
But JUL’S is about more than what’s on the plate. It’s a feeling. One that transports guests away from the rush of central London and into something a little slower, warmer and more carefree.
Whether it’s a date night, celebratory dinner or simply an excuse to treat yourself, JUL’S delivers a little Mediterranean escape without ever leaving Zone 1.
And honestly, London could do with a few more places like that.
