London just got a little more tempting this May, as Galvin Bistrot & Bar rolls out something that feels perfectly timed for sunnier days and spontaneous plans. Enter Oyster Hour, launching on 9th May, and yes, it’s exactly the kind of low-effort, high-reward indulgence people have been craving.
Picture this: a relaxed afternoon, a table on the terrace, a plate of freshly shucked oysters with lemon and shallots, and a perfectly chilled mini martini in hand. At £1 per oyster and £5 for a Mini Gin or Vodka Martini, it’s giving effortless luxury without the usual fuss. There’s even the option to dress things up with ponzu or a little caviar if the mood calls for it.
Running Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 6pm, and stretching a little longer from Friday to Saturday, Oyster Hour feels designed for everything from casual catch-ups to those “just one drink” moments that turn into a whole evening. And the drinks don’t stop at martinis. Think crisp rosé, a refreshing rosé spritz, or a classic Bloody Mary, all curated to keep things easy, light, and very sip-worthy.

As if that wasn’t enough, the terrace is getting a seasonal glow-up with a Château Sainte-Marguerite takeover, bringing a touch of the South of France right into the city. Add in new all-day dining on Fridays and Saturdays, and suddenly there’s even more reason to drop by whenever the mood strikes.
It’s all very on-brand for Galvin Bistrot & Bar, where good food, good drinks, and good company come together without trying too hard. This isn’t about overthinking it. It’s about showing up, settling in, and letting the afternoon unfold.
